Hello! I return to dump coord pics onto this blog.
I have been procrastinating on this because I still am trying to find a method of uploading pics onto here from my phone that isn't just me dumping everything onto a private pinterest board and copy pasting it onto here. (I am not very tech literate i guess)
Because of how hot it has been where I live and how much I've been working, I have not been wearing egl out much, but nonetheless here are the coords I was able to handle wearing in the 80-90 degree Fahrenheit heat or wore in my room lol.
Once again this will be text & picture heavy!

This month, my partner and I made a trip to the holy land of lolitas. That being Baby the Stars Shine Bright shop in San Francisco!
I had planned this trip a couple weeks before, during my uni's finals week. Although my hometown is a few hours away from SF I never had the opportunity until now to visit the physical store. Now that I am older, it was finally prime time to make the visit.
 Before actually visiting the store, since our reservation was later in the afternoon, we explored Japantown. I was somewhat surprised by how many people were there, but it was such a nice sunny day for SF. We visited Kinokuniya and checked around the various stores at the JPtown mall. A lot of shops and dessert shops that I used to visit as a kid managed to survive the pandemic, which made me happy to see. However, the old arcade that was the only place that had a Taiko arcade machine closed down. :^(((

For pre-game before afternoon tea, we got some crepes. While walking around, we actually saw some lolitas around! One worked at the baby store and another was visiting the store (lol).

Afterwards, we had afternoon tea at a tea room that was in the same building as the store. It was not the best afternoon tea I had, but I appreciate how close it was to everything in Japantown.

Now for the actual visit!

(Srry btssb, i couldn't help sneaking a pic)

I was so ecstatic walking around the store and seeing all of baby's dresses and accessories in person! It definitely feels more different that shopping online. Although I mainly lean towards gothic, I caved in and bought a sax Shirring Princess JSK that they had hanging. I thought that maybe they would have a Hawase Doll OP left behind from the recent release, but I am still happy with my purchase!
After leaving Baby, we also visited the Angelic Pretty/ Harajuku Hearts store, which was a bit of a walk from where we were. I did not find anything too interesting, but we left with some Kira Imai stickers!

Here's a pic of the haul!

To end it off, here are the coords that we wore!

Coord Rundown:
(Left)
Headdress: Bodyline
OP: Cornet
OTKs: Black Ribbon

That's it for this longish post! Thank you for reading!

Coordinate dump! Lets go!!!!!!!
These are all from late May and early June!

Mirror selfie at a boba shop we stopped by!
Tree that matched my hair color at the time!

Coordinate rundown:
OP, Purse: Moi-Meme-Moitie
Headdress: Bodyline
UTKs, Platforms: Offbrand
Parasol: Alice and the Pirates
First coordinate with my newly acquired Moitie OP. I went out without any makeup to pick up supplies to dye a Kazuko Ogawa OP that was badly stained with my roommate. (I will make a entry about it soon...).
Also, on this day, I was able to use my new AATP parasol I got from an auction! It is a bit impractical to carry around, but it makes me feel like a full-fledged lolita. Nothing is more fancy than using a parasol during sunny days!

Coord rundown:
JSK: Antique Beast
Headdress: Moi-Meme-Moitie
Choker: Antique Beast
UTKs: Metamorphose
Wristcuffs: Handmade
Platforms: Koji Kuga
This coordinate is my first every attempt at Ero. I was experimenting coordinating this Antique Beast JSK I received recently at the time. I did not actually wear this out, but now that I am back in my home state where it is hot and sunny almost everyday, I will one of these days!

Coord rundown:
Bustier, SK: Metamorphose Temp de Fille
Blouse: Innocent World
Headdress: Rococo Heroine:
UTKs: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Last coordinate for this post is what I had worn for Spring ILD! I am wearing a gobelin set from Metamorphose in a colorway that makes my mind go crazy. There is not much I can express about this set as I think it speaks for itself. Out of all the gobelin fabric that the brand had used, this one has to be my favorite.
Aisling and I went to a cute tea room to celebrate that day, which has to be my favorite place to have afternoon tea.

That's all for this coordinates post! Thank you for taking the time to read!

Some coordinates I wore this past week! Let get right into it.

Headdress, SK: Metamorphose
Cutsew: H.naoto
OTKs: MmM
Platforms: Koji Kuga

I wore this to work. I hadn't worn EGL in around 2 weeks and I was dying to at least wear a casual coordinate. I often am too nervous to wear a coordinate to work, but I was feeling more confident that day.
I do not wear this h.naoto cutsew that often, as well. I somewhat dislike the way the neckline is low, but I recently learned a new way to tie headdress ribbons that make it look like a choker, so it felt less empty in that area.
Hopefully, this coordinate read as casual proto or something, but I'm unsure if I succeeded, lol.
(excuse the unedited 2nd pic, I got lazy haha)

Cutsew, SK: MmM
Purse: BPN
Platforms: Koji Kuga
Could I label this as casual EGA? But anyways, this is another toned down coordinate I wore to work. I posted this coordinate for World Goth Day, but I did not wear it on that day, ironically. I was too busy with trying to save a stained Kazuko Ogawa I laundered incorrectly.
The Moitie skirt that I was wearing is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe currently. It is definitely a little bit too small for me, but the lace on the back is one of my favorite designs. It is eyelet lace that has cross and roses. I hope to one day own the bustled JSK that uses the same lace.

Headdress: Bodyline
JSK,UTKs: BTSSB
Wristcuffs: Indie
Platforms: Taobao

Are you surprised seeing a sweet coordinate on here?
This is my first ever sweet old school coordinate! I have recently been obsessed with sax.
totally not because of my obsession with shino hajime
I dyed my hair blue a day before wearing this coordinate, as well, and it matched really well! I honestly really enjoyed wearing it out and it makes me want to wear more sweet in the future!

And that's it for this post!
Thank you so much for reading! Have a lovely day!

More like 45 questions tho....
This is an idea stolen from jude's blogspot.
Once again, this is a long post, so apologies in advance.
And, here is the link to the original LJ link if you'd like to do it too!
x

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown.

My hand name is the same name that I use in real life, which is Bo. I don't remember if I had used another name in the past, though.
My hometown is in a valley. It's boring compared to the city that is further north. I would dislike it if it were not for the friends I have there.

2. About how long is your history as a Lolita?

I've been in the fashion for about two years now!

3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion?

I think what really drove me to start buying and wearing the fashion was when I saw a picture from the Miho Matsuda instagram during the beginning of quarantine.

4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita?

Before the pandemic, I have already known about lolita, but was too busy with school and too shy and self-conscious to let my interest drive me to discover more about it.
I think my first memory of seeing the fashion was driving past the San Francisco Angelic Pretty store when I was still little. Although I am not drawn towards pastel sweet prints, I was amazed seeing the cute storefront as a child.

5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc).

Old school elegant gothic lolita

6. About how many Lolita friends do you have?

A good amount, surprisingly. They are mostly all online, with barely a handful that I know in real life.

7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita?

Feeling pretty. I think wearing lolita is the most confident I have ever been in any style that I had worn before. In addition, the community I have become a part of and friends I have made through it.

8. Conversely, what's the worst thing?

The fatigue from wearing it out is the worst. It gets mentally draining at times and can be uncomfortable.

9. Which Lolita Brands do you like?

Old moi meme moitie, kazuko ogawa, metamorphose, and old, dead japanese gothic lolita brands

10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned?

Atelier Boz's Yulianna Mini JSK

11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item?

A blouse that can go with any main piece.
And by that, a cute peter pan color blouse with elasticized sleeves.

12. Do you wear drawers?

Yes, I cannot live without wearing one with my coords now.

13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music?

Yes! I discovered visual kei through the fashion. So, vkei is my favorite. My current favorite bands are eliphas levi, jigokue, schwarz stain, deadman/kein, baiser, and, of course, malice mizer.

14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita?

I usually go to the chinatown/japantown in egl. Other times, I will wear it to just go out on the weekends.

15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita?

Once a week. I sadly everyday at a job that has a dress code.

16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were
just beginning Lolita.

The first coord that I had posted. The legwear was cheap, shitty hot topic lace thigh-high tights, the headpieces I wore was a cheap, frilly headband, and the petticoat was showing.
Look back at it, it is a big embarrassing, but the people who saw that post, even the actual lolita, said it was a good first coord.

17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most?

Ringlets ofc. Although, I think natural colors, like blond and black suite the style the most. But that is personal preferences, since I am an old schooler.

18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason?

Yes, but those were thoughts that held little weight. They were mostly from moments of dysphoria.

19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...)

Streets snaps from the GLB & Kera. I love the freedom they had with their style and experimentation that early lolitas dabbled in.

20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely!

I don't, but I would love to own a BJD one day!

21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes?

It depends on the situation. I usually wear natural makeup, but if I feel like doing something more fancier, I go for a mana-inspired makeup look, but without the white face paint/foundation.

22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out?

I have not. I was luckily always near home when I needed to change from my normie clothes to egl.

23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself?

Yes, although I used to be anxious and self-conscious when I first started, wearing lolita alone is practically my armor against my own self-doubt.

24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes& accessory monthly?

An embarrassing amount. My parents would be so mad at me if they knew.

25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it?

A moitie piece. Currently old moitie is having a boom in prices. I bought a 2002 OP for around $450~.

26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods?

Im so embarrassed. These questions are exposing me.

27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of
Lolita?

I work two part-time jobs, despite being a full-time student. I like having money for the fashion I love.

28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good
and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not.

I have bought from both the online metamorphose & btssb store via a shopping service. I really cannot say anything bad about the experience. But I suppose one good thing is the cute bag that is always included.

29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us
about a private manufacturer that is the best.

I don't really buy pieces new. But if you are looking to find good old school pieces, make connects with other lolitas. I am not saying to just make friends for the benefits of trading or private transactions with them, but it helps to know others in the same style of lolita as you.

30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"?

Literally any old moitie pieces. Everything is even more unobtainable because of the second-hand prices.

31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay?

I could care less. If that's what they enjoy, then let them be.

32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’)

I don't think there is a age that is written in stone for when someone should quit lolita. Just do whatever you want, no matter what your age is.

33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about?

Promoting devilinspired as a good place to buy taobao, lol. But, I also don't want newbies and lolitas who are just clueless about better places to buy pieces because I don't like the competition over limited quantity of things.

34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about?

Not really. I do hate it when newbies wear shitty lolita amazon cosplay dresses or replicas. It just makes me feel bad for them.

35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita?

My preferred aesthetic for my own personal style has changed. It used to be more aligned with how modern gothic lolita is styled, but now I prefer the old school look of gothic.

36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita?

Last school quarter, I definitely wore lolita more often to class and work. However, I have not been able to wear it as often during the week.

37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear?

Yes and no. Lolita is what I usually wear to go out, no matter if its for something casual or formal. But, when I am just at home, I do not wear it.

38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”)

I have a partner who I put in lolita sometimes. She looks so cute in it that I am going to insert a pic.

They like to listen to me ramble about random facts in my head about egl so i think that means she understand my interest in it haha.

39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it?

My friends think its cool. My parents think its weird. No one has outwardly expressed their disapproval of it to me.

40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now?

There's too many to count and list.

41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made?

I have mainly made headdresses. I don't use them often, but I have a gobelin one that I like quite a lot.

42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us.

Yes! My ideal coordination is a teased black twin tails, a full face of gothic shiro-nuri makeup, a short, but elegant black op with a nun collar, lace topped black OTKs, and the tallest platform heels. Something like this....

43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a symbol of Lolita”?

Voluminous, puffy skirts filled by a petticoat.

44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita?

I don't want children. But if I did, I would let them decide if they wanted to or not.

45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita?

This should not be very surprising, but the image of the ideal lolita for me has to be all the photos of Mana-sama in the Gothic and Lolita Bible, of course.

And that concludes all 45 questions! If you actually read through all this, thank you so much. You are a real one. I'd kiss you if I could (with your consent of course).

Hello!
It is time for my first official entry on my page. I wanted to do something to document and give my thoughts about the pieces I recently purchased in this year.
Just a warning, this will be a long entry, tee hee~

Moi Meme Moitie - Rose Cross Print JSK
An interesting JSK from late 2000s Moitie. I purchased it from a local seller who had not been in the fashion for several years. The under bust bodice and the reverse-scalloping (I dont know what else to call it) makes this dress a unique one in my closet.

I adore the flocking on this dress, as it is so detailed and its fuzzy. My silly brain enjoys feeling the texture.
One thing I do dislike about this JSK is the dotted tulle fabric at the bottom. I just dislike tulle fabric and dot details. But, its not that noticeable in pictures or when I wear it that it, so it keeps me from completely hating it.

And here's it coorded, which I wore to a anime convention last month. It definitely needs to be worn with a bigger petti, haha.
~~~
Metamorphose Temp de Fille - OP with Cape
Not the most flattering pic, but here is the lace monster of a dress. For a moment in time, I was obsessed with searching for Metamorphose pieces that were smothered in raschel lace. I was very lucky when a lolita friend in the area put this OP up for auction, which I won for a price that was not too bad. (Considering a week prior a similar piece sold for an insane price).
The dress does not have any lining, which I actually quite like. It is reminiscent of the handmade nature of early EGL pieces, and plus it would not bake me alive if I wore it in the summer heat.
I love how it makes me feel like a haunted antique doll, and I hope for more opportunities to wear it when the uni quarter is over
~~~

Kazuko Ogawa - ワンピース0010
A piece I was fortunate enough to receive in a trade with junji. Along with my Rodia gobelin JSK, this lint magnet of a dress is definitely one of my favorites in my wardrobe. The velvet fabric and the white raschel lace create a lovely contrast that I believe embodies peak old school lolita aesthetic.
When I received this dress, the lace was a bit browned from age and stains, but I was luckily able to oxiclean it back to a nice, bright white. I was so worried while doing it, since the black velvet started to run into the solution. For a moment, I was so afraid it would end up staining the lace further, but after throwing it into the wash, it came out nice and clean!

One of my favorite details of this dress is the dainty cherub charm sewed into the center of the chest bow. The bow sometimes hides this little guy and sometimes he can barely be seen in pics, but I adore him.

Coord pic! As a short lolita, the length of the dress makes me very happy.
~~~
Moi Meme Moitie - Logo Embroidery Jacquard JSK
Oh my, another Moitie piece? This brand has definitely drained my wallet quite a bit. The clutch that old moitie pieces have over me is insane since new moitie's releases have been disappointing me time and time again.
I was first on the fence on purchasing this piece, as moitie goes for insanely high as of recently, but after some hesitancy, I took the plunge after mabel told me how nice this JSK is, as she has this dress in her wardrobe, as well. I have no regrets buying this!
Some details that I absolutely adore. The choice of a satin fabric on the bodice and waist ties is unique and gives a opulent vibe to this dress. Also, the jacquard fabric is such a dream!
I cannot forget mentioning the chiffon bustle and lace detailing! Literally gorgeous and makes me lament the quality of old moitie. :^(
And, coord pic!
~~~

Antique Beast - Vampire Princess Summer JSK
Here is something I received just this week! Being disillusioned with moitie and depressed by the pricing of older moitie, I started to learn more towards looking for pieces from Japanese indie brands. My quest turned up fruitful when I was able to buy the original 2003 release of this Antique Beast piece!
This JSK was originally sold to someone else on LM, but due to damages on the grommets, the original buyer returned the pieces and the seller agreed to sell it to me for more than half the initial selling price!
The damages on the dress was fraying on the grommets, which the seller had said were only affecting 3 of them, but after further inspection of the dress, I ended up replacing all 10 of them, as they all fell out super easily.

The area around the grommets became slightly discolored (due to me accidentally drowning the area in fray check), but its not too noticeable. :,,,,^) Nonetheless, I love the details of the dress, especially the straps as their shape is exactly like the bat headdress from the brand!
I cant wait for the weather to get super hot so I can create an ero coord with this beauty.
~~~
BTSSB - Cul de Paris JSK
This is the first and only sweet piece that I have in my wardrobe currently! I purchased it from Cat during the anime convention last month, and I am really happy to have gotten it! I recently have become fixated on old school sax pieces (which I blame my love for blue haired anime boys on). I absolutely love the details of the crochet lace that is used throughout the dress. As someone who mostly owns raschel lace pieces, I had forgotten have beautiful and dainty cotton crochet lace can be!
Here is a close of the lace details on the bodice next to my son who I blame for heightening my love for sax.
One interesting feature of this dress is the detachable bustle that came with the release. It is supposed to be reminiscent of the bustle style of the same name. Both my roommate and I agreed that it looked a bit funny, but maybe I will use it one day to create a hime-esque coord, lol.
~~~
Victorian Maiden - Sister OP
Can you tell that I was saving the best for last? :^)
I still cannot wrap my mind around the fact I was able to get my hands on this legend of a piece, and it really good condition too!
Around the same time that I bought this OP from a mutual on IG, this dress popped up on auction, which ended up at an, unsurprisingly, crazy price. When I say that I am lucky to not have to be destroyed by a bidding war, I truly mean it!

The print of the dress is still in amazing condition, with its detailing being still so clear and crisp.
I also really love the shantung fabric that was used for it. It gives such a lush and elegant vibe to it!
I haven't had the chance to wear this dress yet since I literally finished washing it last night, but I cannot wait for the opportunity when I can!
~~~
That is all I have to show for my recent purchases for this year up until now!
I hope you enjoyed reading through my rambling! Have a lovely day! <3
My first message into the void. How serene.
But to drop the theatrical seriousness, I am growing tired of social media and the endless scrolling.
I am late to the dreamwidth party, but I hope I can experience what livejournal once was back in the day.
